Why 100% cotton?

Every piece in our collection is 100% cotton, with no synthetic blends. Here’s what that means when you’re wearing it.

Is cotton breathable?

Yes. Cotton is a natural plant fibre, and a woven cotton fabric lets air move through it, so it feels cooler and less clammy against the skin than many synthetics. It also absorbs moisture well, which is why it feels comfortable on warm days. The trade-off is that cotton holds on to that moisture and dries more slowly than polyester, so it’s made for everyday wear rather than intense exercise.

Is cotton good for sensitive skin?

Many people with sensitive skin find cotton comfortable because it’s soft and natural. Without synthetic fibres in the mix, there’s less of the static and slick feel some fabrics have. If you react to dyes or finishes, wash new clothes before wearing them.

Poplin or twill: what’s the difference?

It’s all in the weave. Poplin is a tight, plain weave that gives a smooth, crisp, lightweight fabric — the classic shirt cloth, as in our Relaxed Poplin Shirt. Twill has a fine diagonal rib, which makes it sturdier with a softer drape — ideal for pants like our Wide-Leg Cotton Trouser.

Does cotton get softer?

Good cotton softens with washing and wear, so your favourite pieces often feel better a year in than on day one. Garment-dyed cotton, like our Oversized Button-Down, is dyed after it’s sewn, which gives it a soft, lived-in feel from the first wear.

How do I care for 100% cotton?

  • Wash cold, with similar colours.
  • Line dry in the shade. Hot washes and tumble drying can shrink cotton.
  • Iron warm while slightly damp for crisp shirts, or hang to let creases drop for a relaxed look.

Always check the care label on each piece.
